OCEANUS  was bred in Kentucky by Dr. & Mrs. R. Smiser West & W. S. Farish, sold at the prestigious 2008 Keeneland September Yearling Sale for $450,000, and was nominated to the Triple Crown and Breeders' Cup Series. Unfortunately, dreams of this promising, talented, and well-bred colt's race career ended when he bowed his right front tendon, and while on layup, he foundered in his front left foot. After rehabbing in Ocala, he became a member of our family as a 3 year old in 2010.
.
Bred to be a sire, by leading sire & sire-of-sires, Champion A.P. INDY, and out of graded placed multiple stakes winner & graded stakes producer, SWAZI'S MOMENT. Oceanus is a half brother to leading sire, multiple grade 2 stakes winner, KAFWAIN, who ran 2nd in the 2002 $1,000,000 Breeders Cup Juvenile -G1 to champion Vindication. From 14 crops to race, KAFWAIN has proven himself as a leading sire nationally, sire of earners of over $30 million, including 18 stakes winners including millionaire, Daisy Devine. He is also proving to be a highly successful broodmare sire, including Eclipse Award 2020 Champion Female Sprinter, Gamine. Oceanus' 1st and 2nd dams are both stakes winners and stakes producers. His first seven dams are all stakes producers. This promising stallion is bred to have a huge future as a sire. He has been a member of our family since he was a 3 year old, is very kind, and looks like a clone of his magnificent sire, A.P. Indy. He is bred to be a sire, by one of the industries all time greatest sires, and is a materal half brother to, Kafwain, a top sire and broodmare sire. So, we feel the sky is the limit for what he can sire! Looking forward to seeing his first foals.
